Can someone design a cool banner for the Math Club Page? We can post it here.

Upcoming Events
When: Wednesday, April 26th, 2006
Agenda: Collect money for T-shirts and pass them out. We still need a treasurer for next year. Please, everyone show up for this last meeting of the year.
Joint Mathematical Meetings
- The Joint Mathematical Meetings are held by the MAA and the AMS to present mathematical research, to further interest in mathematical scholarship, and to provide an opportunity for mathematicians of all levels to network and communicate.
- Plus as Dr. Zimmer said in our last meeting, it will be interesting to see 3,000 mathematicians packed into a confined area!
- Some lectures that might be of interest to math club members include:
Undergraduate Career Paths in Mathematics
Transitioning into Graduate School
Using History of Mathematics in Your Mathematics Courses
Teaching Advanced High School Mathematics
The Great Pi/e Debate
The Mathematics of Everyday Language
- The meetings this year will be held in San Antonio, Texas from January 12th - 15th.
- The cost of attending the sessions is going to be $21. The deadline for early registration is November 14th, while the deadline for ordinary registration is December 16th. We will be making decisions about this event soon. Keep checking this page, as we are still trying to determine how best the math club should sponsor students who are interested in attending.
- If you are interested in attending the meetings, you can e-mail Curtis or any of the other officers.
- Further information about the meetings can be found here.
Opportunity Links
- Anyone interested in the MAA (Mathematical Association of America)? Curtis has applications or you can apply over the internet.
- Anyone interested in graduate school in mathematics? If so, you need to take the GRE subject test in math. You can register online to take the subject test on December 10th. The deadline for registration is November 4th. If you have any other questions about the process for applying to graduate school, send e-mail to Curtis.
